The World Conference on Science Literacy

      We are living together on a beautiful planet. We are members of a community of shared future. Today, with the rapid development of science and technology and the deepening of globalization, improving public science literacy and enhancing the public's understanding of and participation in science and technology are critical to the all-round development of individuals and the sustainable development of nations, and are conducive to the better resolution of global issues relating to the development of science and technology and human society as well as the building of an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world characterized by everlasting peace, universal security and common prosperity. This has become a major consensus of the international community.
Themed on "Science Literacy for a Shared and Better Future", this is the first international conference dedicated to promoting public science literacy. It mainly discusses the following four topics: science literacy and overall development of human beings; science literacy and sustainable development; promotion of science literacy: responsibilities and duties; and promotion of science literacy: innovation and development. The conference aims to build an international exchange platform and a global cooperation mechanism to push ahead the joint consultation, joint construction and sharing in promoting public science literacy, so as to get support from governments and mobilize scientists, educators, media, enterprises and other public forces to jointly fill in the gap in science literacy between countries, lead the universal improvement in public science literacy, fully release the positive energy of scientific and technological progress......
